FACE ZINE

ABOUT

This was an individual piece of work in which I created a zine. I have always had a love for the arts from a young age. I have always been creative; however, growing up, I became increasingly aware of the socio-political effects on the arts. The concept for the zine was to celebrate the arts and different creatives, demonstrating the value of creativity whilst having an underlying message of the negative impacts affecting the creative arts.

I, therefore, came up with the zine FACE (For All Creatives Everywhere). Within this zine issue, I got different aspiring creatives, including dancers, photographers, musicians, and fashion brand designers, to participate in the zine. However, throughout the zine, I used illustrations and pop-culture messages to signify the current socio-political effects on the arts.

I won an award for this project within Fashion Communication and Promotion for having the most timely topic, which I am very proud of. I have since developed this idea and research in other work.
